Club Social Events
Steak Nights
A long held tradition at Swan River Rowing Club, Steak Nights are held at the clubhouse on the first Thursday of every month. They are perfect for the hungry rower in the family and are always a friendly and social event. You will often catch talks by Olympic rowers, coaches and guest speakers at these nights. Members are encouraged to bring along family and friends. A large T-bone steak is served alongside delicious salads and fresh vegetables, all for $22 per head. Please RSVP at least a week before to Brian Nash at steaknight@srrc.org.au.
Annual Dinner
In November we recognise the years achievements through our annual dinner and awards ceremony. This is a formal occasion with a delicious three-course meal and speeches. It is also an opportunity to reunite with club friends and look to the year ahead.
Less Formal Events
Pasta Nights: During the club season, boats are loaded onto the trailer on Friday nights before regattas. Everyone involved goes upstairs for a pasta dinner – its like a large family dinner.
Weekend Breakfasts: Healthy breakfasts are often provided at cost for young athletes and masters after training on weekends. A quick BBQ of bacon/egg rolls or a sausage sizzle is often on offer after a weekend row.
Winter Event: Every year around mid winter, a special social fund raising event is organised, in recent years this has been the Christmas in July dinner.
Coffee: We have a barista coffee machine in the kitchen, a popular gathering point at any time.
