Regatta Events
Regattas
W.A. Rowing Regattas are held from April to September, with many of our active members taking part. Most of these are held at the purpose built rowing course, Champion Lakes, in Armadale. Some long distance regattas are held along the Swan River. The State Championships are held in late September, with our club traditionally doing very well at this event.
Members wanting to row in regattas are invited to organise regatta attendance with the Club Captain. The Club Captain in conjunction with the coaches determine the final crews and boats for the regatta event. Rowers will be responsible for individual seat fees for each regatta. These fees are in addition to the annual membership fees.
Presidents Fours
This is a social club regatta held in December, where crews of four are randomly selected. The diverse nature of the club means that you could be racing against an Olympian! Race a short distance and then enjoy a large breakfast and catch up with old and new rowing friends.
Corporate Regatta
Every spring we run a one-month structured program for companies that wish to use rowing programs to raise awareness and skills in the areas of team building, trust and achievement. Top quality coaches are assigned to each crew of eight plus a coxswain. Crews undergo a fairly intense and structured program which culminates in a Corporate Regatta Challenge against other companies in the program. The regatta consists of a series of 500 metre races and is a lovely social event along the river for the rowers and their families.
