River Safety Rules
River Safety Rules
Many accidents occur because bad decisions are made before leaving the boathouse. Weather and water conditions, time of day, equipment problems, and supervision are all critical components that must be considered to have a safe rowing session.
In the up coming winter weather season, rowers need to assess the prevailing conditions before you go on the water, if there is any doubt stay ashore. Wear appropriate clothing in layers.
- Rowers may not be on the river before sunrise or after dark without a working light on the bow of their boat.
- All Swan rowers are to supply their own light.
- Rowers are to be familiar with the safety and river rules outlined in the Rowing WA Yearbook.
